Opening Ceremony of the 2024 Nonsan Strawberry Festival
논산시(시장 백성현)는 2024 논산딸기축제(부제: 논산딸기와 사랑에 빠지다)가 둘째 날을 맞이했다. 둘째 날은 개막식이 대대적으로 열리는 만큼 첫날보다 더욱 많은 발길이 딸기축제를 찾았다.
개막식이 있는 이날에는 지난 2월 태국 방콕에서 개최된 논산시해외박람회에서 연을 맺은 찻찻 시티판 방콕시장과 벨라루스, 루마니아, 페루 등 대사관 외빈을 비롯 21개국에서 온 51명이 논산을 방문하여 논산의 매력을 경험하는 시간을 가졌다. 특히, 이날은 2027년 논산세계딸기산업엑스포 개최를 응원하고 지지하는 행사를 진행해 그 의미를 더했다.
축제장에서는 논산딸기축제 미술실기대회를 필두로 아이들과 함께 즐기는 프로그램으로 꾸며졌다. 논산딸기 손맛 디전트 경연 대회, 딸기떡 길게 뽑기, 스트로베리 게임존 등 다양한 구성과 준비로 방문객의 오감을 사로잡았다.
한편, 메인 무대에서 펼쳐진 제11회 논산딸기 전국어린이동요제는 봄날의 새싹과 같은 어린이들의 맑고 순수한 목소리로 딸기축제장을 더욱 아름답게 빛내주었다. 뒤이어진 토크 콘서트에서는 김홍신 작가의 진행으로 논산 딸기 역사 100년 중 재배의 본격화가 이뤄진 1960년대 딸기 재배를 이끈 손창식(89세), 용화리 박상규(93세) 옹을 만나보는 시간 또한 가졌다.
대망의 개막식의 문을 여는 식전공연에는 전통두레풍장이 흥을 돋우며 펼쳐졌고, 딸기한복패션와 어우러진 팝페라 공연은 관객에게 신선함과 감동을 동시에 선사했다.
개막식 행사는 권평식 딸기축제운영협의회장의 개막선언으로 시작되었다. 개막식에는 백성현 논산시장과 김태흠 충남도지사와 논산시의원, 임장식 대한노인회 논산시지회장, 강호동 농협중앙회 회장 등 관계자들이 참석하였다. 특히, 이 자리에는 하루 동안 논산의 이곳저곳을 경험하며, 논산의 매력에 흠뻑 빠진 방콕시장을 비롯한 21개국의 손님들이 딸기축제를 응원하고 2027년 개최되는 논산세계딸기산업엑스포(이하 엑스포)를 지지하기 위해 참석하였다.
이미 무대는 세계였다. 이 자리에서 백성현 시장은 대한민국을 넘어 세계를 향한 포부를 밝히는 것은 물론, 논산의 저력과 비전, 논산에 일어나는 변화에 대한 설명으로 논산시민의 자부심을 일깨웠다.
행사에 참석한 김태흠 도지사는 “2027년 논산세계딸기엑스포 개최를 위해 도에서 뒷받침을 할 것을 약속한다”고 전하며, “국방클러스터, 탑정호 개발사업, 논산세계딸기산업엑스포, 100만 평 산업단지 등 굵직한 사업에 대해 논산시와 함께 도 차원에서 계획한 바가 많다”라고 말했다.
개막식의 대미를 장식한 퓨전 국악그룹 그라나다, 트롯가수 박재현, 디바 인순이의 공연은 방문객으로 하여금 아름다운 봄날에 논산딸기와 사랑에 빠지는 낭만을 선사하기에 충분했다.
백성현 시장은 “이 자리에 참석해주신 여러분의 마음속에 논산과 논산의 자랑인 이 딸기가 아름답게 새겨지길 바란다”고 말했다. 그러면서“세계에서 논산의 가치가 이미 빛나고 있다”고 덧붙이며, “논산이 가진 저력과 가능성을 더 크게 펼칠 수 있도록 2027년 세계딸기산업엑스포 개최에 힘을 실어달라”라고 호소했다.
한편, 논산딸기축제는 오는 24일까지 논산시민가족공원과 시민운동장 일원에서 봄날 낭만과 추억거리를 가득 안고 방문객을 맞이하게 된다.

The 2024 Nonsan Strawberry Festival (subtitle: Falling in Love with Nonsan Strawberries) began its second day in Nonsan City (Mayor Baek Baek-hyun). The second day attracted more visitors to the festival than the first day as the opening ceremony was held in a big way.
On the day of the opening ceremony, 51 people from 21 countries, including Bangkok Mayor Chatchat Sittipan, who made a connection at the Nonsan Overseas Expo held in Bangkok, Thailand in February, and guests from embassies in Belarus, Romania, and Peru, visited Nonsan and experienced the charm of Nonsan. In particular, the ceremony was held to support and encourage the hosting of the 2027 Nonsan World Strawberry Expo.
At the festival site, there were programs for children, including the Nonsan Strawberry Festival Art Competition. The strawberry taste test contest, strawberry rice cake making contest, and strawberry game zone captivated the senses of visitors with various configurations and preparations.
Meanwhile, the 11th Nonsan Strawberry National Children's Song Festival, held on the main stage, brightened up the strawberry festival grounds with the clear and pure voices of children like springtime buds. In the talk concert that followed, hosted by writer Kim Hong-shin, visitors had the opportunity to meet Son Chang-sik (89) and Ong Sang-kyu (93), who led strawberry cultivation in the 1960s, when strawberry cultivation was in full swing during the 100-year history of Nonsan strawberries.
A traditional strawberry festival was held to open the long-awaited opening ceremony, and a pop opera performance combined with strawberry clothing gave the audience a fresh and moving experience.
The opening ceremony began with an opening declaration by Kwon Pyung-sik, chairman of the Strawberry Festival Steering Committee. The opening ceremony was attended by Nonsan Mayor Baek Seong-hyun, Chungnam Governor Kim Tae-heum, Nonsan City Council members, Lim Jang-sik, chairman of the Nonsan Branch of the Korean Senior Citizens Association, and Kang Ho-dong, chairman of the Nonghyup Central Association. In particular, guests from 21 countries, including the mayor of Bangkok, who spent a day experiencing various parts of Nonsan and immersed in the charm of Nonsan, attended the ceremony to support the strawberry festival and to support the Nonsan World Strawberry Industry Expo (hereafter Expo) to be held in 2027.
The stage was already set for the world. At the event, Mayor Baek Baek-hyun not only expressed his ambitions for the world beyond Korea, but also awakened the pride of the citizens of Nonsan by explaining the city's strength, vision, and the changes taking place in Nonsan.
Governor Kim Tae-hum, who attended the event, said, "I promise to provide support for the province to host the Nonsan World Strawberry Expo in 2027," adding, "There are many big projects planned at the provincial level with Nonsan City, such as the Defense Cluster, Topjeong Lake Development Project, Nonsan World Strawberry Expo, and the 1 million-pyeong industrial complex.“
The performances of fusion Korean music group Granada, trot singer Park Jae-hyun, and diva In Soon-yi, which culminated in the opening ceremony, were enough to make visitors fall in love with Nonsan strawberries on a beautiful spring day.
"I hope that Nonsan and its strawberries, which are the pride of Nonsan, will be beautifully engraved in the hearts of everyone who attended this event," said Mayor Baek Baek-hyun. He added, "The value of Nonsan is already shining in the world," and appealed to "help us organize the World Strawberry Industry Expo in 2027 so that we can further expand the potential of Nonsan.“
Meanwhile, the Nonsan Strawberry Festival will continue to welcome visitors with romance and memories of spring at Nonsan Citizen Family Park and Civic Stadium until the 24th.
