계룡시는 지난 20일 충청신문사(사장 김충헌)로부터 사랑의 쌀 1,000kg을 기탁 받았다고 밝혔다.
이번 백미 기탁은 연말을 맞아 주변의 어려운 이웃에게 도움의 손길을 전하기 위한 것으로 알려졌다.
김충헌 사장은 “지속적인 물가상승과 경기 침체로 어려운 시기에 이웃을 위한 나눔을 실천할 수 있어 매우 기쁘게 생각한다”며, “앞으로도 보이지 않는 곳에서 이웃사랑과 선행을 실천하고 계신 분을 찾아 조명하는 지역 언론의 역할에 최선을 다하겠다”고 전했다.
이응우 시장은 “어려운 시기에 이웃사랑을 실천해 주신 충청신문사에 진심으로 감사드린다”며, “사랑의 쌀은 기탁자의 소중한 마음을 담아 도움이 필요한 이웃에게 전달하겠다”고 말했다.
