에너지 사용량 감축에 동참한 707세대에 인센티브 지급
계룡시(시장 이응우)는 시민 일상생활 속 온실가스 감축을 위해 시행중인 ‘탄소중립포인트제도’ 참여자에게 2023년 상반기 탄소중립포인트 인센티브를 지급한다고 밝혔다.
탄소중립포인트제도는 가정, 상가 등에서 전기·상수도·도시가스 절약을 실천하여 자발적으로 에너지를 감축한 세대에게 에너지 절감량에 따라 포인트를 부여하고, 그에 따른 인센티브를 연 2회 지급하는 범국민적 기후변화 대응활동이다.
시는 2023년 상반기 참여자 1926세대 중에서 에너지 감축을 실천한 707세대에 총 930만 원의 인센티브를 지급하며, 온실가스 감축률에 따라 포인트를 산정하여 지역상품권과 현금 또는 그린카드 포인트로 지급할 예정이다.
탄소중립포인트제도는 희망자 누구나 언제든지 가입할 수 있으며, 참여를 원하는 시민은 탄소중립포인트제 홈페이지(https://cpoint.or.kr/)에서 직접 가입하거나 면·동사무소에 가입신청서를 제출하면 된다.
가입 후에는 탄소중립포인트제 운영시스템에서 전기 및 수도사용 고지서를 기반으로 배출량을 자동으로 산정해 포인트가 적립된다.
시 관계자는 “온실가스 배출로 전세계적으로 이상기후 현상이 지속되고 있는 만큼 탄소중립을 실천할 수 있는 탄소중립포인트제에 많은 참여를 바란다"고 말했다.

The Carbon Neutrality Point System is a national climate change response activity that grants points to households that voluntarily reduce energy by practicing electricity, water, and city gas conservation in homes, commercial buildings, etc. according to the amount of energy saved, and pays incentives accordingly twice a year.
The city will pay a total of 9.3 million won in incentives to 707 households that practiced energy reduction among the 1926 participating households in the first half of 2023, and will calculate points according to the greenhouse gas reduction rate and pay them in local gift certificates, cash, or green card points.
Anyone who wants to join the carbon neutrality point system can join at any time, and citizens who want to participate can sign up directly on the carbon neutrality point system website (https://cpoint.or.kr/) or submit a membership application to the county and district offices.
After signing up, the carbon neutrality point system automatically calculates emissions based on electricity and water bills and accumulates points.
A city official said, "As abnormal weather phenomena continue to occur around the world due to greenhouse gas emissions, we hope that many people will participate in the carbon neutrality point system to practice carbon neutrality."
