예매율 94%, 5,000여명의 관람객이 극장을 찾으며 가족 모두가 공감하는 작품으로 호평
강원특별자치도가 주최하고 강원문화재단이 주관하는 2023년 강원도립극단 정기공연 뮤지컬 <다이빙 온 아이스>가 지난 11월 17일 개막, 12월 15일까지 도내 7지역 12회의 다이빙을 선보이며 관객들의 박수갈채와 환호성 속에 막을 내렸다.
본 공연은 2024 강원 동계청소년올림픽대회 성공기원을 위해 지난 2022년 진행된 <청소년 뮤지컬 시놉시스 공모전>에서 25대 1의 경쟁률을 뚫고 선정된 작품으로 청소년을 넘어, 온 세대가 공감할 수 있는 뮤지컬로 김주영 작가가 직접 희곡화하였다.
총 15개의 넘버로 이루어진 뮤지컬 <다이빙 온 아이스>는 각자 다른 꿈을 가진 다섯 친구의 성장 이야기가 팝, 락, 발라드 등 활기차고 따뜻한 음악들로 마음 깊은 곳 꿈틀거리는 에너지들을 표현하며 관객들의 눈과 귀를 사로잡았다.
오후 공연은 강원특별자치도교육청과 연계하여 도내 18개 중고등학교 2,600여 명이 단체로 관람하였으며 저녁 공연은 일반인 관객들 대상으로 공연하며 청소년에겐 현실적인 공감과 용기를 부모에겐 따뜻한 위로와 응원을 전달하였다.
태백공연을 본 관객은 “태백에서 공연 관람 후 여운이 계속 남아 삼척에서도 관람하게 됐다”라며 “현재 우리의 청소년들의 심성을 조금이나마 헤아려 볼 수 있는 계기가 주어진 내용이 참 인상 깊었다”고 소감을 전했다.
삼척공연을 본 관객은 “강원도립극단의 공연은 무료 공연은 퀄리티가 낮다는 편견을 매번 버리게 해준다”며 “배우들의 수준이 높은 연기와 노래, 넘치는 끼와 활기찬 에너지에 어느 때보다 즐겁게 관람했다”라고 말했다.
지난 15일 춘천문화예술회관에서 펼쳐진 마지막 공연에서는 김진태 강원특별자치도지사, 정광열 강원특별자치도 경제부지사, 신현상 강원문화재단 대표이사, 이해규 춘천연극제 이사장, 선욱현 춘천인형극제 예술감독, 김혁수 용인문화재단 대표이사 등 650여 명의 관객들이 벅찬 감동을 느끼며 뮤지컬 <다이빙 온 아이스>과 뜨거운 안녕을 했다.
김경익 강원도립극단 예술감독은 “다섯 친구의 성장 이야기는 2024 강원 동계청소년올림픽의 슬로건인 ‘Grow Together, Shine Forever(함께할 때 빛나는 우리)’와 비전이 같다”며 “무한한 가능성을 안고 꿈을 꾸는 청소년에게 감수성 신장과 문화적 영감 제공은 물론 온 가족이 즐길 수 있는 작품을 지속적으로 만들겠다”고 폐막 소감을 전했다.
Hosted by the Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province and organized by the Gangwon Cultural Foundation, the 2023 Gangwon Provincial Theater Company's regular performance musical "Diving on Ice" opened on November 17 and ended on December 15 with 12 dives in seven regions of the province to the applause and cheers of the audience.
This performance was selected through a 25-to-1 competition rate at the Youth Musical Synopsis Competition held in 2022 to pray for the success of the 2024 Gangwon Winter Youth Olympic Games, and was written by Kim Joo-young as a musical that all generations can relate to.
With a total of 15 numbers, Diving on Ice, a musical about the growth of five friends with different dreams, captivated the audience's eyes and ears with its energetic and warm music, including pop, rock, and ballads, expressing the energies stirring in their hearts.
The afternoon performance was held in partnership with the Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province Office of Education and was attended by more than 2,600 students from 18 middle and high schools in the province, while the evening performance was held for the general public, delivering realistic empathy and courage to young people and warm comfort and support to parents.
An audience member who watched the performance in Taebaek said, "After watching the performance in Taebaek, the afterglow continued to linger, so I watched it in Samcheok." "I was very impressed with the content that gave me the opportunity to understand the hearts of our current youth," he said.
An audience member who saw the Samcheok performance said, "The Gangwon Provincial Theater Company's performances make me throw away my prejudice that free performances are of low quality every time," and "I enjoyed watching the actors' high level of acting and singing, full appetite and lively energy more than ever."
At the final performance at the Chuncheon Arts Center on the 15th, more than 650 audience members, including Governor Kim Jin-tae of the Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, Vice Governor Jung Kwang-yeol of the Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, CEO Shin Hyun-sang of the Gangwon Cultural Foundation, Chairman Lee Hae-kyu of the Chuncheon Theater Festival, Artistic Director Sun Wook-hyun of the Chuncheon Puppet Theater Festival, and CEO Kim Hyuk-soo of the Yongin Cultural Foundation, said goodbye to the musical Diving on Ice with overwhelming emotions.
"The story of the growth of five friends has the same vision as the slogan of the 2024 Gangwon Winter Youth Olympic Games, 'Grow Together, Shine Forever,'" said Kim Kyung-ik, artistic director of the Gangwon Provincial Theater. "We will continue to create works that the whole family can enjoy, as well as provide sensitivity and cultural inspiration to youth who dream with unlimited possibilities."
